Strategic & Tactical Vision
Plateco’s Core Competencies of fast turn around, high, consistent quality, flex-ability, productivity and 213 years of combined management experience at a fair price make up its competitive advantage strategy. This strategy will enable an efficient use of managerial and sales efforts in the area most needed to meet the company’s sales goals for 2016/17 fiscal year.
Because of its “fast turn” around capability, normal time is two to three in house business days, Plateco can provide delivery schedules to satisfy its customer’s changing business needs, such as JIT (just-in-time) schedules.
The company’s management team is effective and successful. In order to optimize the use of management time, a weekly “Variance Report” is prepared by the Accounting department and reviewed by the management team each Monday morning. In this way, the company is assured of staying on target with respect to financial goals, and is able to more effectively monitor work in process. This assures an efficient and economical use of capital and human resources.
A key Plateco Core Competency, productivity, has positioned it well to benefit from changes in the metal finishing market place. A current nationwide trend by many manufacturers (OEMs and 2nd Tier manufacturers) is electing to eliminate or reduce metal finishing operations from their facilities because it is not of strategic importance for their long-term success. In some of these cases, these plating operations will be shifted to production shops as the particular process does not fit captive (single process) shops.
